Occupational Therapy- more than just equipment

Being independent and maintaining a normal routine in your daily life is not just about being able to walk. There are many different aspects that you need to consider:

·       Your role and routine within the home

·       Having the energy to complete an activity- such as the gardening and cooking.

·       Having the correct environment and set up at home to enable you to complete the activity.

·       Incorporating strategies/adaptions to enable you to complete the activity.

·       Your mental health and wellbeing.

Occupational therapist work along side Physiotherapists. A physiotherapist may give you exercises and advice to build up your strength and balance in mobility. An Occupational Therapist will look at how this can be put into practice in everyday life.

Bristol Home Therapists are a private Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy business, supporting patients with complex need in their Home or Care Home setting. If you, a friend or family member would like to know more about our services and how joint therapy can support please get in touch. www.bristolhometherapists.co.uk
